A brighter burn for Gators basketball.
Problem
The first version of the piece leaned into a darker cinematic style, with heavier overlays, grunge textures, and atmospheric effects. It had the right intensity in the edit, but early projection testing showed that some of those choices would lose contrast on the court floor.
The piece needed to keep its weight and impact while becoming more legible in the arena. The floor had to read quickly from every seat, especially during fast player moments, matchup reveals, and the brighter moments of the show.
Solution
Claymaker pushed more light into the piece without losing its heat.
Darker overlays were pulled back, flame and electricity moments moved forward, and the Gators palette gained more contrast against the floor. Court geometry, fractured paint effects, rotoscoped players, and fire-trail basketball moments gave the projection its force while keeping the image alive in the room.
Implementation
The final projection balanced cinematic weight with the clarity required for live court projection. Rotoscoped highlights, lens flares, particle flames, and dimensional floor breaks helped key moments land with more force in the arena.
After the marquee projection piece was built, Claymaker provided weekly home matchup updates that worked within the same visual system. The result gave Florida Men's Basketball a flexible projection package with sharper contrast, stronger game action, and a brighter sense of impact on the court.
